the leaning tower

Pisa: the 'leaning tower of pisa'
Leaning Tower of Pisa is the one of the most intriguing historic architectural marvels of the world, situated in Italy. Known as ‘Le Torre Pisa’ in Italian, it is a freestanding bell tower of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. Situated behind the cathedral, it is the third monument in the Piazza del Duomo. Though the Tower was intended to be vertical initially, it soon gave in during the early stages of construction, tilting towards southwest. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is considered to be a work of art, which took nearly two centuries to be completed.

if you happen to be going through pisa, definitely stop to take your pictures holding up the tower, but don't go out of your way. Pisa is known for the tower and that's about it! well, if you're up for being harassed by street vendors trying to sell you fake ray bands, umbrellas, and crappy relics, than it's known for that too. (i'll admit i bought a pair for sunglasses for 3 euro, a splurge i know). mcdonald's also has a location in Pisa if you're craving fries, hamburgers, or ice with your drink (i think we all were at that point). our stay was short, just an hour, it's all you need. after that we were headed back home finally, after a long week of traveling and touring Italy.

Holding up the tower...
